The Solstice Sisters

Solstice Sisters jpeg

Individually, Maggie Hunter, Susan Staley and Anna Durden had been performing around Athens, when one Christmas, around 1994, they came together to work up a few Christmas songs for a holiday event, and it was the beginning of The Solstice Sisters and also the beginning of a long lasting friendship and partnership in song! In 1999 they released their album, "Holiday Music From Around the World", which is now in its second pressing (buy it at: athensmusic.net) The Sisters have performed at many festivals in Northeast Georgia, sharing the stage with the likes of Doc Watson, Doyle Larson & Quicksilver, Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys and many more.   Locally,  have played at The Crimson Moon and many times at the Mountain Medicine and Music Show.  The sisters are known not only for their lovely three part harmonies, but also for their spontaneous and energetic live shows!
