Known for their soulful, energized
music, Fool's Gold of Dahlonega
mines appalachian traditional songs, bluegrass, new acoustic, rock,
country, jazz, blues, and hillbilly swing to create an evening of
original music and unique interpretations of familiar tunes.Chris
Jones
sings and sets the pace with a blazing mandolin and occasionally
breaks out a guitar. Kevin Wood sings, hollers, dances and plays
guitar. Mac McConnell on guitar and mandolin, with Joe Cronan on
bass keep the rythm with a driving swing. David
Hancock handles the dobro, lap steel, and harmonica for some
hot licks and screaming solos. Appearing with Fool's Gold on this
show will be special guests Frank Booth and Dennis Carpenter.
Curtis and Holly Jones
Curtis Jones has entertained bluegrass audiences around the
world. Having toured extensively throughout the US and Europe,
Curtis has wowed audiences in Ireland, Germany, Holland, Belgium,
Italy, Spain, France, Romania, Canada and England. Curtis has
toured and or recorded with such bluegrass notables as: Patty Loveless,
Dan Tyminski, Alison Brown, Missy Raines, Jim Hurst, Bryan Sutton, Tim
Stafford, Shawn Lane, and The Schankman Twins. Curtis has
composed music for many bands including Third Tyme Out?s ?Coal Mine
Blues? which has been met with a great deal of popularity for the
band. Curtis currently lives in Dahlonega Georgia and performs
regularly with his wife Holly Jones.
Holly Jones was brought up in British Columbia, Canada in a performing
Bluegrass Family. Holly sang lead and harmony vocals as well as
rhythm guitar in her fathers bluegrass band known as ?Blue Moon?.
Holly has been featured on numerous recording projects including The
Native Heart Band and The Norgaard Jones Project 2 - Visions of
Salvador. Currently Holly?s recording of ?We used to be? is currently
one of the most popular recordings on Serious Guitar Radio on Live 365
internet Radio.
